Product pages not updating

  • Hi Woocommerce team, I’m in a bit of a bind.

    I’m trying to make updates to my products, however when I click “update” on the WordPress interface two things happen:

    1. The update process takes a very long time, upwards of a minute, and when it does finally load I get the following error message:

    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    This only happens with Woocommerce product pages. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I’ve attempted to debug the issue but cannot get the File Manager to create a debug.log as per wordpress’ debug article https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

    An update, I found the error in question:

    Looks like this is directly tied to the theme I’m using.

    Hello there,
    That is right. It seems to be caused by the plugin designthemes-core-features.

    I recommend contacting the theme’s support team for further help. Also, you can try switching to Storefront or TwentyTwentyone temporarily to confirm if the issue happens also when the theme is not active. Make sure to disable all plugins related to the theme as well if you try this test.

    Tried activating/deactivating all plugins and themes, still products won’t update. It is definitely an issue with the plugin. Please provide a solution for it. Thanks

    The error log your provided seems to be outdated as that’s dated 15 Jan 2021. Can you share a copy of the *latest* error log found under **WooCommerce > System Status > Logs**?

    I am having a similar issue. When trying to add product, woocommerce times out and displays the message: There has been a critical error on this website.

    I have contacted my hosting provider who tried debugging and said that it looks like the problem lies within the plugin. I am running a fresh install of wordpress with no plugins and default theme. The only plugin I installed was woocommerce.

    We need a patch for this, Thanks.

    I am having a problem with updating products too. It just keeps the spinning icon up until it crashes a few minutes later.

    I can confirm that it is an issue with the Woocommerce plugin. In addition to affecting product updates, it is preventing the deactivation of plugins. Here is the complete thread with a few unsatisfactory (for me impossible) workarounds.

    Thanks to everyone who’s responded. So we can all agree now this is an issue thats affecting everyone across the board. Hopefully the dev team have taken notice and are working on a patch, however I haven’t seen any statement from them yet.

    Lacuna thanks for posting the quick fix. Have you tested at all?

    Looks like woocommerce has fixed this issue. It works for me now.

    Only the plugin issue was fixed for me. The product updates still do not work.
