• Hi! I’m using a child version of the free Virtue theme and have had many issues. Most of which are resolved now. However, my product pages look like blog pages. They did not do this until yesterday.
    This is what I’m getting:
    https://www.sleeneys.com/product-category/vintage-inspired-jewelry/.
I need the images to be smaller and the Categories, Archives, and Pages tabs at the bottom to be gone. As you see, there is this message, too:
“Notice: Theme without sidebar.php is deprecated since version 3.0 with no alternative available. Please include a sidebar.php template in your theme. in /home2/sleeneys/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3512”
Please let me know what to do. Thanks so much for your help. I have been working on this for a couple of months and it has really been one thing after another. Meanwhile, my business is down….
Do I need to update the theme? I’m using the child version, but I see that there are many parent themes after 2.5.4.
Thank you again for any advice that you may offer!!

PS- Yesterday, I had my host de-bug the website. I was not getting the WooCommerce Settings tab at all (blank, white screen). I deactivated my Simplify plug-in and I now have the Settings screen. I changed my image sizes to 300, 600, and 180 and regenerated the pics. Are these sizes good? Some of the images are blurry. But they’re way too big (on my product pages). How do I made them smaller? THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Hey,
I’m not sure what your seeing. Best if you posted a screen shot.
I don’t see a notice. I don’t see what you mean by blog page?

The link you posted shows products in 4 columns. The image sizes you set are large so if your wanting smaller then you should make them smaller. but you are the one controlling that.

You should always update the theme.

Oh I’m sorry! Here is a screen show:

The error message is now gone, so that is good.

I changed the sizes in the WooCommerce Settings tab and regenerated the photos in my library this morning. The sizes are the same size. How and where do I change this, please? What sizes does Virtue recommend?
    Thank you!!

The extra menus (at the bottom of the page, other than the footer menus) are now gone, also, which is great!

But now, some of my products are not aligned next to each other…

How can I fix this and make sure it aligns correctly?
    Thank you!!

    (@sleeneys)

It’s only misaligned in two (out of six) categories, the “Accessories” and the “Handmade Jewelry”.

Thank you for any help you may give!

    Hey,
You keep posting urls for images that are on your computer. You are the only one who can see those. You need to use a screen shot sharer site like this:

Oh I’m sorry! I can’t get the screen shot to paste right. I’m sorry! Here is a link, though.
    https://www.sleeneys.com/product-category/vintage-inspired-jewelry/
The images are basically going off the page and I still have the blog type menu at the bottom, under the search box and above the footer menu (Pages, Archives, Categories). How do I get rid of this blog type menu and make the product photos smaller? I have set them at 300, 600, and 180 in the WooCommerce Settings, Products, Display tab.

The products are all aligned correctly now (this morning, some products in two categories were misaligned).

    THANK YOU!!!

I don’t see any images going off the page in that link?

Wow. Ok, so now the images are good and the blog menus are gone. I swear that I’m not crazy, it looked pretty not great when I sent this to you.
But now, again, one of the times is mis-aligned The black purse on the bottom row is in the second spot instead of the first; the first spot is blank….

    This is so strange….
    Thank you for your help!

Ok. So the images going off the page and the blog type menus are back.
    https://www.sleeneys.com/product-category/vintage-inspired-jewelry/
Of course, when you look, it will probably be good. What in the world is going on? How can I make sure that this website always looks the same, with nothing going off the page and no crazy menus…
    Thank you so much!
PS- I have not changed a thing since last night, when it looked good. I’m using Safari to look. I’m speaking with my host and he sees a good-looking page, not what I see at all. Is this a browser issue? He’s not using Safari. I need this to look good on any/all browsers since I cannot control what people use.

    Hey,
    1. Your accessory is one off because you have a photo that is not resized.

    https://www.sleeneys.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/DSC_1131-401×600.jpg

Make sure you turn the thumbnail regenerate completely. That photo didn’t get resized. You can also re-upload which will fix too.

    2. I looked on every browser (including safari) your page doesn’t have anything going off screen. Looks fine.

Try this delete your browser cache and logout of your site and take a look.

Thank you SO much! I really, really appreciate your help and patience with me.
I spoke to my host today about the images going off the page. Just to make sure all was good on that end. I signed up for a bit of a better plan, so hopefully, that will help. I will definitely cache again, too. I deactivated the cache plug-in that I had. I was told that I really don’t need a cache plug-in (the plan has automatic caching, faster loading time, etc). What do you think?
I’ve looked at it a couple of times since then and it looks good.
THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES, INFINITY!!! Have a great night!

Good morning! One more question and I won’t bother you anymore.
Sometimes, some of the photos are still misaligned.
    https://www.sleeneys.com/product-category/handmade-jewelry/
I’ve regenerated the photos. I will check again, just to make sure. Is there any way that I can prevent this from happening? I never had this happen on my old website before…
My husband looked on his cell phone and he showed no blank spaces…
    Maybe it is just me.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

Hi! Some of my photos are blurry. I have changed the sizes in WooCommerce and WP. They are currently set to:
    Catalog Images 300× 300px
    Single Product Image 600× 600px
    Product Thumbnails 150× 150px
I’ve also regenerated all of my photos. The photos are clear and great in my media library…
    Thank you!
PS- I am loading the main product photo (product image) at 800px on the largest side. The other photos (product gallery), I’m loading at 600px on the largest side. Is this ok?
