    Woo sent us to your page at skyverge.com (https://www.skyverge.com/blog/rename-add-woocommerce-product-sorting-options/) and from there we arrive here since you have kindly developed a free plugin of use to many . Thank you .

    However, our original ask of Woo (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/product-search-results-output-alphabetical-low-to-high-order-please/) is for: Product Search Results Output Alphabetical Or Product Menu Low-to-High, Order, please . .

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oCC5lyphIbCAgBsUb6J_Y8Uaa6L1EUKy/view

    And we read of no mention anywhere about any such Woo Search results output sorting configurability in your well documented and easy to grasp, extra product sorting options, plugin description .

    Are we missing something . . perhaps right in front of our eyes ?

    Because we are unable to appreciate how Woo front-end shop output sorting options have, any affect upon, or use by, the website Woo Search output sorting options .

    Altogether since, the default frontend Woo shop output sorting option in-use by us (by product menu order) is different to the, defaulting, Woo Search output sorting (currently by Reverse product menu order) but which ideally will be by alphabetical order (product title) or, also, by product menu order, as then configureable by us .

    Are you able to assist with what we appear to be missing in our Woo Search output ?

    If unable then we will return to our Woo post and beat the drum a little louder .

    Thank you for reading and thank you for your assist .

    Mean-time and for now,
    Much appreciated . . much obliged . .
    Yours sincerely,
    Stuart :-}

    Hi @boutiquelife,

    Thanks for reaching out about Extra Product Sorting Options! I’m happy to help.

    It looks like Woo sent you to an older page on our blog. We’ve built out a plugin that can help you sort your shop page from A-Z and set it as a default (or low-high).

    You can find this free plugin here along with some documentation:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woocommerce-extra-product-sorting-options/

    Is that what you’re looking for?

    All the best,

    Hello SkyVerge,

    Thank you for your affirming responsiveness .
    But, unfortunately, no .
    We think not .

    We are failing to assert the support request, clearly or sufficiently, because we believe that we are, still, missing the obvious answer from our lack of larger Woo inventory products database experience . And indeed the answer may yet be to use the Extra Product Sorting Options plugin .

    We are very specifically referring to the website Search output ordering that is independent of any Woo shop-front/ store-front product output ordering that usually displays on the Woo shopping and shopping category pages .

    We are experiencing a different default output order on our site Search results output screen compared to the default Woo shopping and shopping category pages .

    That difference is exactly the Woo product menu numerical order chosen by us for Woo shopping and shopping category pages (by specifying the ordering by product menu and ascending order or numerical lowest to numerical highest) – But In Reverse meaning by Descending order (numerical highest to numerical lowest) . Mirror opposite .

    We would like to either reverse the reverse meaning order the site Search results output by our ascending Woo product menu numerical order (lowest to highest) which is the same as the Woo shopping and shopping category pages display output And/ Or by alphabetical (Woo product title) order from A -Z, please .

    We are unclear how or whether the Extra product sorting options plugin is able to deliver the, ideally, wanted site Search results only output .

    Again, we thank you for reading and for your assist .

    Mean-time and for now,
    Much appreciated . . much obliged . .
    Yours sincerely,
    Stuart :-}

    Hi @boutiquelife,

    I’m still having a bit of trouble understanding your issue. It does sound like you might be looking to change something that our plugin doesn’t control. I’d be happy to take a look at your site specifically to see what we might be able to do.

    Would you mind sharing a link to your site so I can look at this closer?

    Cheers,
    Liz

    Hello Liz,

    Thank you for your get-back .

    Forgive our slack responsiveness, please .

    Site address link .

    By accessing the online store you see the chosen output ordering of the product database . . and by using ‘edt’ in the Search feature you see the Search output ordering of the product database . . and you see the reverse ordering from Search compared to from online store as described in our last, above .

    Re-ordering Search output is the mission du jour, please .

    Re-ordering Search by product menu order (numerical ascending) and/ or by product title alphabetical order (A-Z) .

    And again, we thank you for reading and for your assist .

    Mean-time and for now,
    Much appreciated . . much obliged . .
    Yours sincerely,
    Stuart :-}

    Hi @boutiquelife,

    Thanks for the link! I took a look and it looks like the plugin that is controlling these search results is WooCommerce Product Search.

    Are you currently using that plugin?

    Cheers,
    Liz

    Hello Liz,

    Thank you for your get-back :-}

    We confirm that we are *not* using the Woocommerce Product Search plugin .

    We have interrogated the theme developer’s documentation online and also see no mention of this plugin in-use or integrated for-use by theme owners . And the theme specific plugin updating admin regime (appearance > install plugins) does show all the integrated plugins from where-ever that are available for use with the theme whether paid or included . And *no* mention of Woo Product Search .

    We are using Shopkeeper theme, as you probably already know from the detection tools available to web-browsers . Latest version too .

    We arrive at your feet because our theme developer is unable to (initially) assist and sent us to Woo . . who sent us to you :-}

    We gain little comfort discovering that you, too, are momentarily, at least, ‘confused’ by the ‘simple’ request . And we remain, largely, ignorant of the ‘challenges’ our request conjures . . but we imagine sooner or later a more easily applied and usable ‘simple’ Search output ordering solution will be forthcoming as we are beginning to believe that we are ‘spearheading’ an eventuating need that other Woo users also are (or will) experiencing where a full blown Woo Product Search plugin is over-kill . Maybe .

    Anyways . . we do appreciate your attention to our little ‘drama’ and cheerfully acknowledge that we are able to return to Woo for further assist or not and to the theme developer for a little table-top slapping too .

    Again, our thanks to you, Liz, for affirming our specific ‘challenge’ and your communications throughout .

    Hopefully, we are nearing a satisfactory resolution, one way or another :-}

    Mean-time and for now, we remain consistently persistent,
    Much appreciated . . much obliged . .
    Yours truly,
    Stuart :-}

    Hi @boutiquelife,

    I’m sorry we weren’t much help here. I came across this article that describes customizing the Product Search form. Does this help you get any closer to your goal?

    https://www.cloudways.com/blog/how-to-add-customize-woocommerce-product-search-to-stores/

    If not, I think reaching back out to WooCommerce would be the best place to get further assistance.

    Cheers,
    Liz

    Thank you, Liz, for everything :-}

    Forgive our late response, please .

    Will revert, now, to Woo for any further guidance able to be had .

    Our back and forth has, indeed, satisfactorily elucidated the ‘problem’ .

    We appreciate all of your contribution(s) and will continue to discover the ‘best’ solution available to us for our needs . And will be glad to report back here anything useful we find out along the way toward and including the solution arrived at . Hopefully that does help some .

    Mean-time and for now,
    Much appreciated . . much obliged . .
    Yours sincerely,

    Hey Stuart,

    Thanks for confirming! I’m going to go ahead and close out this topic now, though if you have any other questions or any additional information to share, please don’t hesitate to come back and open up a new topic about it.

    Thanks so much,

    Julie ??
