Product shortcode not working anywhere

Hi there, I am trying to pull a product by shotcode [product id=”123″] but when i check the source code on the front end, there is nothing… I also tried using the sku parameter instead, and also both combined, but no luck either…

Also tried putting the shortcode in a post instead of a page, but still nothing rendered in the browser, no trace of code in the source…

Please help, I have been looking all over for answers, or even hints to get me on the right track, but no luck so far, and I am running out of time!
