    Hello,

I am still trying to solve my issue with sorting of by products. I need to have them in custom order, so I have ”Default sorting” enabled in ms theme customize options. It still does not work on the shop page and the products are shown in the alphabetical order regardless what I do within my dashboard.

I am running the latest WordPress with the latest version on OceanWP theme.

    I have tried this options:

    a) switching the theme to the default one (twenty seventeen)
    b) disabling all plugins except WooCommerce
    c) disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and with the default theme

None of those tests seemed to solve the issue and it still persists. What’s also is strange is the fact that every other sorting option seems to also not work properly – the shop/archive page looks still the same.

Here is the video of the issue – you can clearly see there that I am following the latest method to achieve the custom ordering, but without a success.

If you need a more detailed info, you can go through the topic I have made in the Ocean section. Link is here:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/custom-product-order-does-not-work-woocommerce/#post-11189002

The support told me that this is really strange and it looks that it is not caused by the theme/plugin conflict. They only advised to try the WooCommerce with the Ocean theme on the clean local installation, but…

My site has been already on the live server for a while and since I am building it for the serious purpose (client), local solution will not solve the problem.

I will appreciate any kind of help with this issue I am desperately trying to solve for a weeks now and my client is waiting for the functional site…

    Thank you and best,

    Michal

P.S – Maybe it is worth to mention that I have once installed and activated this plugin:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/rearrange-woocommerce-products/#description

In the details the developer says this:

Can I undo the changes I have made after deactivating or deleting the plugin?
No, You can not undo the changes after deactivating or deleting the plugin. As it directly updates the “menu_order” property of the products.

Is this something what could theoretically mess up my site? How can I fix it then? Is there any way how to perform the clean install of wp without losing all my data/plugins/etc.?

    Hi @micwie,

Absolutely. Unfortunately, as long as there are no caching issues on the site, it appears that plugin is the major player here. As there’s only one way (natively) to clear out WooCommerce data (which will wipe all data), you’ll want to get in touch with your site’s host, as well as the developer of this Rearrange WooCommerce Products plugin for suggestions on how to properly clear the menu_order data and nothing else.

    Best,

    Ross

I have this same issue. I too use OceanWP. I’m wondering how this issue was finally resolved?
    Thanks

    Rich.
