    Hello,
after a customer does a purchase, the product stock does not update. The stock only updates after the shipping label is created and printed in the order overview.
The issue is that a product with low quantity could be bought more often than available depending on how fast the shipping label will be created.

It should be like this: Customer goes through checkout successfully and completes the payment, then the stock should immediately update. After printing the shipping label, it should not update, so there is no double stock reduction.
The order should also only be accepted if the payment was successful. I already made some test order where I closed the payment pop up, but the order was still accepted.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @trodakiz

I understand that your stock updates after the shipping label is created and printed, and not immediately after the payment is done.

By default, stock is reduced when an order gets to the Processing status which also implies that payment has been received. For reference, kindly check the order statuses documentation here – https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/managing-orders/#order-statuses.

Since your workflow is slightly different, it seems to be due to the influence of another plugin involved.

May I know which plugin is in use for creating and printing the shipping labels?

In order for us to get a better idea of your setup, please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Hello,
    thank you for your response.

I use Germanized and a Pre-Order plug-in from YITH that implements a pre-ordered status for some orders.
I think that I found the reason by now. The data was migrated from my old Wix Website. I am pretty sure that this issue only occurs with the migrated orders and not with new ones. So I will keep an eye on it. As long as it does not happen with the new orders that I receive directly through my new website, then it’s okay.
