Product thumbnails blurry

I have uploaded my product images bigger than the 600 x 600px size in my settings.

The problem I’m having is that the initial product images are being sized to 460×526 and then scaled to 477×545 on the actual page.

The weird thing is that the images used for the variations are being saved at 525×600 and then also scaled to 477×545.

I can’t figure out where I can edit any settings to change this… I found a CSS fix, but when I added this to a CSS plug-in I use for adding CSS changes (so I don’t lose the change on theme update) I simply get a blank space where the image should be, even after regenerating thumbnails.
