• Hopefully someone can help! The titles of 12 of our products are disappearing every few days. I’m not sure what’s triggering it.

Sometimes the title disappears completely and sometimes they are replaced with the title of our front page or the checkout page. Our developer has said that it seems that one of our plugins is updating the products, and it is caching the post_title. We haven’t been able to figure out what’s doing this. Has anyone come across anything similar?

Failing a fix, we would like to try duplicating the products so they don’t lose the titles. It has worked with a couple we have done so far but some of the products have a lot of reviews that we don’t want to lose. Is there a way to duplicate a product and keep the reviews?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

An inconsistent error like this can be hard to diagnose and it is not something that occurs often. But creating the product from scratch is a good idea to get rid of possibly corrupt database entries.

The WooCommerce product reviews make use of the WordPress comment system. You can try and make use of https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/copy-or-move-comments/ to copy over the comments from product A to new product A.

    Kind regards,

Our WC shop is also experiencing this problem. At first I thought it might be a plugin that is synchronizing with the site, like the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin, but I tried disabling it and the problem happened again.

Recreating all of these products from scratch is a last resort and would be a lot of work. What would corrupt the database entries for a product title like that? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot would be welcome.

We are having this problem as well… Apart from recreating the product from scratch have you found any other solution guys?

Recreating our products from scratch will not only affect our product reviews that are associated to reviews at a third party but also will affect the product statistics and product feeds to Google and Facebook since the Post ID will change.
