Product variations are not working

Hi,

I have a shirt as a product with multiple colours and multiple sizes. When I add only one variation leave it as “any size” and “any color” everything works as expected. But if I enter 0001 as SKU for the color “red” (so “any size”, “red” are selected in the variation header) and 0002 as SKU for the color “blue” (“any size”, “blue”) the select boxes aren’t working as expected – I can select the size, but the color select box doesn’t populate. How can I fix this?

My main goal is to have two different SKUs for two colors, so if there’s another way of achieving this, please let me know.
