When I’m creating variable products in Woocommerce, the variations disappear after trying to save the variations. Problem persists when changing theme to Storefront and turning off all of my plugins. WordPress version 5.5. Thought it was the theme because it was fine until a theme update, but now I have no idea because theoretically, it should’ve worked when I changed the theme. Any idea whats going on?

    Howdy!

Can you possibly send a screencast showing the process and issue?

If you go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs are there any logs available there? Have you asked your hosting provider to make sure there are no memory/quota issues?

How do I post photos here? I have screenshots but it wont let me post. Also, there are no logs under Woocommerce Status

How do I post photos here?

You can add a link to view the photos, or use this markdown:

    <img src="put image link here" alt="">
Link to image: put image link here

It’s not possible to attach images at this time.

Have you asked your hosting provider to check to make sure your site’s quota isn’t being reached? Also, I’d recommend trying to create/save the variations with a different Internet browser, as sometimes browser extensions can cause issues like this.

I posted the photos here and wrote a little explanation https://queencityrestaurantsupply.com/qcrsnew/25981-2/?v=0a10a0b3e53b

    Thanks for that info!

Can you let me know the following:

    * If you go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs are there any logs available there? Especially fatal-error logs. What do they say?
    * Have you asked your hosting provider to make sure there are no memory/quota issues?

there are no logs available. Also, we switched to a dedicated server a few weeks ago because of a space quote we were taking up. There wasnt an problem until about a week or so after the switch to the dedicated server

Thanks for that info! Can you enable WP Debug then try the process again:

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/wiki/Using-WP_DEBUG_LOG-to-log-errors

That should give some more insight into what’s happening here.

there’s a lot of these errors, nothing about fatal. Other than that though nothing else.

Did you try enabling WP Debug using the information I sent above? After enabling that, did you try creating and saving variations? If not, try that and let me know what you find.

If there isn’t anything you can find through that, you’ve tried saving with a different Internet browser and clearing cache, ou’ve already checked to make sure the site has enough quota, and you’ve tested for conflicts by enabling a default theme and only having the WooCommerce plugin active, then I’d recommend deleting the WooCommerce plugin completely and trying to re-install it as a next step. If it’s something in the WooCommerce configuration, it should be resolved by doing that.

As always, make sure you take a full backup of your website before doing this as a precaution. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

It may also be worth trying this plugin to see if it will help: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/

We’ve seen other jquery issues, so it’s worth a try.

I’ve done all of that and it’s still deleting the variations. I’ve backed up by website, should I go ahead and delete/redownload the woocommerce plugin?

Yes, I’d try that as the next step. Excellent job backing up the website first!

It’s been deleted and re-downloaded and it’s still not saving the variations

Can you create a new variable product with just 1-2 variations and then save it? If you then go back and edit the variations and try to save, does that work?

Also, can you check your site’s System Status and paste the PHP max input vars: field here for us to review? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.

You could also try increasing your max_input_vars to see if that helps:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/problems-with-large-amounts-of-data-not-saving-variations-rates-etc/#php-539-and-max_input_vars

    Thread Starter dickeydev14

    (@dickeydev14)

I’ve only been trying with 2 variations and it doesn’t save and there’s no way to go back and edit it, it just disappears.

    PHP max input vars: 1000

is that the max number of variation that I can do?
