When I’m creating variable products in Woocommerce, the variations disappear after trying to save the variations. Problem persists when changing theme to Storefront and turning off all of my plugins. WordPress version 5.5. Thought it was the theme because it was fine until a theme update, but now I have no idea because theoretically, it should’ve worked when I changed the theme. Any idea whats going on?

That 1000 limit is perfectly fine if you don’t have ton of variation combinations. Using only 2 variations is well within that limit.

I want to double-check this again: This problem might be related to your Internet browser (ex: Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.). Can you try to refresh your browser and clear the cache. You can find some steps on how to do that in this link:

Well, the 2 variations are just for when I am testing it. I have hundreds of variations between of all of the products so if 1000 is the max, I could as well have reached that.

I’ve tried on Chrome & Firefox, both the problem persists. I cleared my cache also, nothing

If you have hundreds of variations then I’d recommend increasing the max_input_vars to see if that helps:

Try changing the PHP post max size to something like 2 GB as well and the PHP time limit: to 1200.

I’d recommend asking your server administrator to update all three things for you:

* PHP Max Input Vars to 2000 (may need to go higher, but try that first)
* PHP post max size to 2 GB
* PHP time limit to 1200

Try clearing all caching from your browser and site, then deactivate and reactivate WooCommerce. Does that help?

Hey @dickeydev14,

The new System Report does look much better than before, but if the issue is still happening, I’d suggest taking a look at the WooCommerce > Status > Logs page and see if there are any fatal error logs listed in the dropdown there.

If there aren’t any logs or the information there doesn’t point to anything specific, the next thing I would suggest doing is taking a look at the server logs to see if there is anything there- since the variations aren’t being saved to the database.

The Woocommerce Logs look ok. There’s a lot of them, but it doesn’t look like there’s any errors. I’m trying to looking through the logs, but Hostgator doesn’t like me today. I have our tech coming to help me, but he’s on vacation until Tuesday, so please don’t close this thread. thank you
