Products and categories – Surecart or Woocommerce

  • In Woocommerce I can put products (digital downloads) in categories. I can have one product in multiple categories and choose a primary category. I can also tag products. I have planned to add hundreds of products over time. Do you recommend Woocommerce for my use and not Surecart? Or is there another way to do this with WordPress posts and Surecart products? Isn’t it a bit unusual to not be able to put products in categories? Or am I missing something?

    Thank you, Adam! I really like Surecart because it’s easier and simpler than Woocommerce, so I have already decided to use it for multiple projects ??

    My plan for now was to publish wp posts (with categories and tags) and put the products inside the posts. But if I can make categories inside Surecart it would help a lot. Looking forward to July, but if it’s August it’s all good ??

    Is this still not a feature for products to be categorized? That seems like a fundamental capability of WordPress.

    Hi Danielle, we have had a few development delays on this since my comment stating it will be released in July. Categories, we will be calling collections, product collections, and it will be released next week, but there is a possibility of it releasing later this week.

    Just to update this post, Product Collections was released today.
