Products as donations

    Hi

    I am setting up products as donations

    I would like there to be a total price for the item

    For example a bench at ￡200

    People can donate any amount up to the value of the item

    So for example someone can donate ￡20 another ￡65 etc etc up until the total is reached

    Once the total price of donations on that item is reached the product is deemed as sold

    We are running this for a charity garden that is being set up and are directing people to a “shop” on our website so that they can donate to a variety of plants and furniture

    I can’t find a plugin out there that will do this, but does anyone know if there is such a plugin out there or a way to make this work

    Gotcha, so what you need is a way for customers to donate towards a product. And each donation fills up the “meter”. Once full, the product is “sold out”.

    I know the Name Your Price extension can make it to people can donate any amount of money on a product. But the “meter” and setting it to be sold out once full will likely require some customization. I’ve looked into plugins that offer this sort of thing in the past, but never could find a good one.
