Products automatically being trashed

    Hi All,

    For some reason, my products keep periodically being trashed automatically without any input from me.

    I’ve tried manually moving the products back into a published state, which works for a time, then when I go to check a day later they are all in the trash again.

    WooZone is what I used to import my products and I have ensured that it is all working OK yet still I am having the same issue. I even changed the GeoLocation settings as there were issues with the HTTP calls that are now resolved.

    I’m stumped as to what is causing this problem and desperately need a solution as I have to keep moving 3000+ products manually each day.

    It’s worth mentioning that, although I changed the GeoLocation settings and the products go through to Amazon just fine, that my location is constantly “loading” on a product page.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Forgot to mention that this all started after a WooCommerce Database update. I have been in touch with WooCommerce but it seems my support with them has expired and I am too broke to renew it.

    Hi @generalchiller,

    Just to mention, support for WooCommerce core is free and is done on the forums. Only the paid WooCommerce extensions require an active subscription to get support.

    That said, could you kindly share with us your System Status from WooCommerce → Status so that we can take a closer look at your setup?

    Further, I would suggest doing a test where you’ll create a staging site (you can use WP Staging to create one) and then disable all plugins apart from WooCommerce and switch to a default WP theme like Twenty Twenty-One.
    Once you’ve set this up, leave it for a while and see if the issue recurs.

    I see, perhaps they saw mention of WooZone and thought that was causing the issue.

    I will certainly try troubleshooting on a staging site as you mentioned once I get back round to sorting the site out.

    Following. I have the same issue. Every morning I wake up to 50%+ of my products being in the trash. I’m on a 2-week old install, and it’s never NOT done this. So I don’t have a good baseline of when it started, it’s always been like this for me.

    I’ll add 100 products vis WooZone today, tomorrow moring 60 of them will be in trash.

    Hey again!

    Let us know how that goes, but one thing to point out is that adding products via “woozone” is not something we support, as we don’t make that plugin at all.

    I’d recommend adding products via the normal, built-in WooCommerce way on your staging site and seeing how that goes.

    Hi @slash1andy,

    I’m fairly certain that it isn’t WooZone causing the issue because my products stayed put before the WooCommerce database update I did a week or so ago.

    In fact, this issue has only ever occurred since after the WooCommerce database update, never happened beforehand.

    It’s almost like there is a Cron-Job that is periodically moving my products into the trash.

    Your suggestion has been noted and I am currently taking my products out of trash on the staging site with all plugins disabled except WooZone and WooCommerce (WooZone is needed or products do not load correctly). I’m also adding some new products via the method you suggested to see if these products stay or not.

    If the issue continues, I will disable WooZone as a final test and see what happens.

    Had the same issue. Did some research and found the following:
    ‘Fix Request Amazon Issue – If you set the Put amazon products in trash when syncing after to Never and save the settings. That way the product will never be moved to trash but the price will still sync as long as that product is available on Amazon.’

    So I went to woozone plugin setup. Under the Tab Amazon & General you’ll find the options:
    ‘Put amazon products in trash when syncing after:’
    You need to choose the option ‘Never’ and save the changes.

    Your products in the trash will be restored and not deleted anymore!

    Thanks so much for your help, I’m pretty sure that was the issue. My products have now been restored and I have faith that they will no longer be deleted. Thank you.

    I was wrong, seems like it is WooZone that was causing the problem. My staging site products are all still there, including the ones that I added manually.

    I have tried Franco’s suggestion and will keep my fingers crossed that it will be solved. Thanks for your assistance and suggestions.

    One thing to note is that, after the products were restored, it seemed like my WooCommerce shortcodes weren’t working on posts. A quick cache clear has fixed this and my site is fully operational as it was before the issue started.

    After tomorrow, if my products have not been deleted, I will close the issue as resolved. Thanks, guys.

    OK, so the issue is now resolved, my products have stayed put and nothing moved to trash.

    To reiterate, the solution is found in:

    WooZone>Config>Bug Fixes>General & Amazon and then go to the “Put amazon products in the trash when syncing after:” option and set to “Never”.

    Now I’m having an issue where all of my links take me to “Amazon..co.uk”, with two dots after Amazon that make the link unreachable. Goody.

    I’m now going to close this as resolved, thank you all a bunch for your help!
