Products deleted in cronjob

It’s strange to hear that products are being deleted without warning.

To begin, let’s review any settings or plugins that might be set up to initiate such actions. It would be helpful if you could provide the WooCommerce system status report for a closer examination of your site’s build. You can find it by going to WooCommerce → Status, then selecting “Get system report” and clicking “Copy for Support.”

Thank you for your quick reply, Reynier. Since the products only are deleted on Sundays, I awaited yesterday to see what happened. And again, two products were deleted the same way.

Hi @prolinkbeheer, thanks for sharing your System Status Report. I don’t recognise any of your plugins as specifically related to product deletions. That said, I’m not familiar with WooCommerce B2B: door Code4Life and what it can do, so I suggest scrutinising its settings, just in case. As for the rest, I recommend:

1. Checking Code Snippets for any scripts or custom code you either don’t recognise, or think might have anything to do with deleting products. If you find any, deactivate them, or temporarily deactivate the plugin until next Sunday to see if solves the mystery.
2. Go to WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions, and click the Pending tab. Check the Recurrence column for anything that would repeat every week, or the Scheduled Date column for anything set to trigger 3 Nov 2024 (which is next Sunday). If you find anything, have a look at the Hook column, where the name should give a clear indication of what’s it for. It’s also possible to run the action early (to see see if it will delete products) by hovering over the name in the Hook column, which will reveal Run. In the same way you can also cancel an action, but without knowing why or how it ended up there, it may be possible to reschedule itself.
3. If there’s nothing corresponding to next Sunday under Scheduled actions, then check your site’s hosting management panel to find where Cron jobs are scheduled at the hosting level. Check if anything is scheduled there. Your host’s support might also be able to help with that.

In the meantime, have you found a common thread amongst the products? Are the 2 that get deleted related at all, are they related to the previously deleted products? Are the products entirely deleted, or moved to trash? And what type of products are they, are they manually created or originate somewhere specific?

Let us know if the above is helpful, and what you find, then we can go from there.

I haven’t come across anything strange in Code Snippets, and in the Scheduled Actions I don’t see anything planned for next Sunday (yet). I’ll keep an eye on this. And I will check with the web host whether cron jobs are planned there.

A common thread between the removed products is found, it seems to be random. I’ll let you know when I find out what’s going on!
