I don’t know why it keeps happening, but my products keep disappearing from my subdomain, which was created to be my WooCommerce store. I’ll log back into my shop and they’ll normally come back without me doing anything, but then at some point, they just disappear and all my products become 404.

Because I don’t know when it happens and nothing I do fixes the issue, my shop has become useless.

I’ve tried contacting WooCommerce but they won’t do anything to help beyond telling me to disable one plugin at a time, but that doesn’t work because the act of logging into my shop more often than not fixes the issue, and because my products disappear at random, it’s impossible to find out which plugin could be an issue, although it’s likely the one with the issue is my WooCommerce plugin, given that this subdomain only exists to be a WooCommerce shop. Turning them all off one at a time and checking to see if the products are there don’t show a thing

    Hello @unwantedlife,

It appears there might be an issue with your rewrite rules, as even category archive URLs seem to be broken.

As a first step, I suggest trying to reinstall WordPress entirely. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, try adding the following code snippet to your site. It will flush the site’s permalinks every hour, which might help resolve the problem: Flush Permalinks Hourly.

Please add the snippet using a plugin like Code Snippets instead of your theme’s functions.php file.

    Hope this helps!

I don’t have the access rights to reinstall wordpress, only my host does. I don’t have access rights to the functions.php either. How would flushing it every hour fix the issue? It’s not like I’m creating new categories every day.

Why’s your plug-in causing these issues with my subdomain? Or is the also happening with my main domain as well, I just don’t know about it?

    Hello @unwantedlife,

After reviewing all your responses, it seems like you’re experiencing a cache issue, as everything becomes visible once you log in as an admin.

Since your host blocks access to many features, it might be beneficial to ask them to disable and clear the cache for your subdomain.

Why’s your plug-in causing these issues with my subdomain? Or is the also happening with my main domain as well, I just don’t know about it?

I want to reassure you that WooCommerce doesn’t include any code or feature that would remove or hide your product. Also, we’re unable to reproduce this issue on our end.

Moreover, since your current hosting provider is causing limitations and isn’t cooperating as expected, I suggest you consider WooExpress for hosting your website.

With WooExpress, not only will you enjoy fast and secure hosting, but you’ll also benefit from top-notch customer support via chat and email. Plus, you’ll have access to AI, advanced security measures, automated backups, and much more. Feel free to learn more about WooExpress here: https://woo.com/express/

I hope this clarifies your concern. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

upselling to a hosting plan that’s more than 6 times what I currently pay isn’t a solution to the issue, especially as I’m under contract.

what features are you saying my host is blocking?

    Hello Unwanted Life

    Thank you for your reply

I want to clarify that our suggestion for a hosting plan upgrade was meant as a potential solution based on the information available, aiming to ensure top-quality performance for your online store. However, I completely understand that changing your hosting plan is a significant decision and ultimately, one that you have to make based on your needs and current commitments.

Regarding the features from your host that might be causing issues, it appears that your current host has server-side caching enabled. This type of caching can be beneficial for your site’s performance; however, it can interfere with certain functionalities when used on a subdomain, which seems to be happening in your case.

The issue could potentially be resolved by deactivating that specific cache on your hosting server. If this is not a feasible solution, it might then become necessary to consider switching to a different host that better aligns with the functionalities of your WooCommerce store.

I would recommend discussing the matter with your current hosting provider to explore the possibilities of adjusting the caching settings for your subdomain. They may be able to offer a solution that can work within your current hosting plan and contract stipulations.

Please let me know if there are any other questions I can help you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way. ??
