• Hi there

i was wondering if someone could help out with an issue im facing.

Im trying to setup a woocommerce instance, where for example, a product that has clothes/t shirts with color/size combination.
in the shop page, i don’t want to display the product the normal way, but i want to show its variations for example, color (black/white/red).

have searched everywhere, somehow its not possible to find a working solution. Either the solution from iconicwp (WooCommerce Show Single Variations) or the WooComBros (Display Product Variations) is working. The first – iconicwp lets you choose combination of specific color/size and displays it on shop page, where the WooComBros solution works only with one attribute in the variable product (only color and not with color/size variations)

did anyone had any luck with something like that ?

    thank you in advance

  • There are multiple options here.

    1. What you are already trying.
    2. Are you ok with the idea of a dropdown on the shop page? i.e.
    3. Do you have far too many products to create simple products rather than all variations? (I know the answer to this one is probably yes, but I figured I would throw it out there.

hi there Joey and really thank you for your reply

    1. i dont get what you mean

    2. i would rather like to have for example, if a product has 2 variations in colour, and each variation has his own picture (lets say black and white) to show them in the shop page rather than a dropdown. i found some nice plugins and solutions for that, but thats not the one im looking for.

    3. thats a solution, but … in the actual product page i like to have them all together ??

    LOL, no problem.

    1. I was referring to the plugin’s you already tried, which weren’t exactly what you wanted, but I assumed remained an option.

    2. I understand that wasn’t exactly what you were looking for either. The plus here is that the user is still able to see all the variations and know that there are variations before having to click on the item.

    3. I understand that, I imagine this is more of a last resort.

Now that I kind of know more exactly what you are looking for, there are two more options. Both of these have possible downsides as well.

    4. This is another extension that is conveniently named WooCommerce Show Single Variations. I have a thing for extensions that are easy to understand what they do just by reading the name. Downside: It costs $49 for a single license.. For my website, this would be too much. Now, if you have a good amount of possible income, I can totally see how this may increase your revenue.

    5. I don’t like this one, because from what I can read it seems you may have to change your php file for Woo. I’m still supplying the link (which has also not been updated since 2014) because I feel that it should be your own decision on whether or not to try it. Here that one is.

Let me know if any of those work for you.

Hi there Joey and thank you for your kind reply.

Thing is, in not exactly sure, if the two plugins i was trying where what i was looking for.
As far as i can understand, the WooBros is the correct one, since it gives you the opportunity, to select what taxonomy you want to display in the catalog loop.
So in my case, i was able to select COLOR attribute, so it should actually bring in the loop every color attribute of the specific product. for some reason it doesn’t.
the other plugin from iconic, for a little bit of testing, it gave me the impression that i have to select specific variation (not only COLOR but also SIZE) in order to display it in the catalog loop, something i don’t want to do.
I also have tried your solution, and it seems to bring up the select in the catalog loop, but again it doesn’t bring all the possible colors of one product in the catalog loop.

Im still looking for some solution for that one, since i think, its a nice addon to the woocommerce platform, and if a client has amazing pictures of the products, the shop looks amazing too.
