Profile card cover picture quality

The cover photos which appear on the profile cards on the members page appear to be aliased down to a lower quality than they appear on the actual profile pages themselves. The pictures appear slightly grainy and less sharp. This happens on both Chrome and Firefox.

I have the quality setting for photos in the uploads menu set to 100, but that does not seem to change things.

Any way to change this behavior?
