Profile Photo Crop – Awkward Cutting Off Head

Most of my user profile photos in UM have awkwardly cropped headshots (top of head cut off). Cannot locate any guidance in UM documents or in this forum re: profile photo cropping.
From UM website:

Custom appearance. The user profiles are fully customizable so you can give your profiles a unique look including changing the cover photo aspect ratio, profile photo shape and much more.

If I switch user profile photo shape (from square to circle) head is still cut off at top.

Can anyone suggest the correct size the original headshot image should be so that the user’s head is not cut off?
