Profile Photo Not Uploading

I am unable to load any profile photos. Please see my note in the topic above. I am using the 2017 theme and it’s a fresh install of wordpress from last week on a dev site. Image uploads to UM uploads folder but doesn’t show in Media Library.
Image upload form stalls at “Processing” even after the image has uploaded to the UM uploads folder.
