Profile Picture / Gravatar

Hello. I’m having trouble understading how to swap out the “mystery person” author placeholder (greyed out) for an actual image or a gravatar. I have been through the gravatar process, and uploaded an image there (which is supposed to link back and show up on WP…except it doesn’t). I see the image fine at gravatar but it never shows up at WP.

So, in WP, beside profile image there is text that says “you can change your profile image at gravatar” I click on that link and follow the instructions. Gravatar automatically resizes and squares the image.

So far as I know, the email for gravatar and WP match, so I don’t understand the problem.
