    Hello again,

I’m planning to send newsletters to users via MailPoet. I want users to sign up for these, and want the info to be in the user’s WordPress user record.

I have MailPoet set up with 4 different types of newsletters, which users can choose on the registration form. However, these choices are not recorded in the user’s profile, and the user cannot change their choices.

I see that ProfileGrid offers “groups.”

Can I send a newsletter to only the users in a specific group? If so, would it be possible/better to set up 4 groups, instead, let users sign up for those, then send newsletters according to the groups they join?

And if that’s possible, could someone provide some steps to do this?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello @commontater,

You can choose specific mailing lists for a group in the group options, allowing group members to subscribe only to those lists. The ProfileGrid MailPoet integration works only with registered users on the site. Once user register on site, they can subscribe for a list mapped in group options.

    Hi again @profilegrid0 ,

Thanks for your help. Is it better to have 4 groups, and assign 1 newsletter to each?

I think I might have set things up incorrectly because I started with MailPoet and 4 newsletters, not with ProfileGrid and 4 groups.

The secreenshots on the linked page you provided are a bit small, even when I go full-screen. On the Edit List screen, it shows a switch at the bottom, “Show Opt-In Checkbox.” I thought this would enable my list of MailPoet newsletters. Is this correct? Or does it enable an opt-in list of Groups?

Sorry for my ignorance, but when you say “mapped” what do you mean? Could you please define/describe mapping?

    Thanks!

    Hello @commontate,

On edit list screen it does not show the Lists. In “Group Options >> MailPoet” it displays to choose the list for that group.

Map is refer to choose the list for a group here.

Apologies, but I am having difficulty understanding your reply.

I have the main default group for all users who register. I have 4 newsletters in MailPoet.

Question 1: I want the user to see all of the options for newsletter sign ups WHEN they are signing up. Then I want them to be able to manage their newsletter selections on their user profile. Is there a way to do this?

Question 2: Can one single group (default group, for example) multiple newsletters? And can the user choose from that list or will they be subscribed to all?

    Thanks.

    Hello @commontater,

You can enable multiple newsletters lists in the ProfileGrid group registration form by selecting the lists under “Group Options >> MailPoet” for a group. Once you select the lists, they will appear on the registration form, allowing users to opt in or out of newsletters according to their preferences. After registering for the group, users can also manage their newsletter preferences by going to “Settings >> Newsletter” on their profile page after logging in.

Yes, you can select multiple lists for a group, and users can choose their preferred lists.
