Progpress – NaNoWriMo Support 1.2.2 Update Failure

    Wordpress tells me there is an update from 1.2.1, but after supposedly successfully installing, it still claims the update didn’t take place. The entry for Progpress that is not NaNoWriMo changed to 1.2.2, but not the other.

    Also, the blue color is now black and I cannot change it.

    The code I am using (and have been using for years) is in this format:

    [progpress title=”Behind Enemy Lines (Book 7 in The Empire of Bones Saga)” goal=”90000″ current=”6286″ label=”words” color=”blue”]

    The black bar makes it unreadable. Please advise on what I need to do to correct this.

    I’m not really sure how that’s even possible. You can see here the only change I made was the version supported and the version number. I did forget to update the version number in the NaNoWriMo add-on file, which may cause it to think there’s still and upgrade, but I can’t imagine how it would change anything else.

    It could be something else, of course. Odd that it happened at the same time as the update, but possible.

    I edited the nano file to change the version number and it stopped complaining that it needed to update, but the color issue remains. If it’s only me, well, then lord only knows. I don’t change the files on my site. If it doesn’t miraculously fix itself, I’ll try other options.

    Personally, I hope other people report having problems so I don’t feel all alone out here. ??

    If I were to guess, I’d bet you modified the style sheet in the plugin directory at some point. This would be lost any time the plugin is updated (but I’ll admit it’s been years since that would have happened).

    The styles provided with ProgPress have always had a black bar.

    What I suggest you do is add some CSS to your theme’s style sheet, or use a custom css plugin and add something like:

    div.jcp_pp_prog { background-color: #22a; } 
div.jcp_pp_new { background-color: #22f; }

    I dared fate and edited the plugin’s style sheets. That fixed the issue. I’m not the most wordpress savvy, so I’ll wager a friend who was helping me did so.

    In any case, problem solved and thank you for your help.

    I just installed the plugin for the first time.

    I am also getting the message that I need to update the plugin to v1.2.2 when I click “update now” it appears to update. It gives me a tick and says I’m now running v1.2.2 however if I refresh the page or navigate away and then come back to the Plugins page it again tells me I need to update and that I am running v1.2.1

    There is definitely a gritch here.
