Progress bar for uploads

Would it be possible to implement a progress bar for file uploads on the Write pages?

I had to upload a larger file — having checked that my host allows up to 40Mb — and WP seemed to take an awfully long time about it. But I had no way of knowing whether the upload was proceeding, or had stopped, or what.

Some indication would be really useful.
