Promoting Comments to index.php?

I’m looking for a plugin to put selected comments on the front page (or any other page I might want them on), and it’d be good if they could be put them in amongst the posts as well.

Thought I’d found a perfect answer, Comment Promoter from: https://www.oobrien.com – https://www.oobrien.com/weblog/wp-content/plugins/comment-promoter.phps But it is no longer being supported or even distributed.

I’ve been through the list of comment plugins at this site and the WordPress Plugin Database, and the only other one that is marginally close to what I’m after is Comment Hilite https://rebelpixel.com/archives/2004/06/03/comment-highlighting/ But without some hacking, that only hi-lights comments in the original post.

It’s occurred to me that if I could add an additional comment status, comments that I want hi-lighted would be given that and then another plugin I’m using, Customizable Comment Listings, could be used to bring them forward.

Any help, especially on that last point, would be appreciated.
