Was a little annoyed to find that the “installer” now heavily suggests switching to a WooCommerce provided theme as the last step of the “wizard”. A little heavy handed there, WooCommerce folks.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out!

There might have been a change I’m unaware of, but I’ve just made a new WordPress and WooCommerce install and received no suggestion to change the theme – please, check the screenshot below.

Can you send a screenshot via https://snipboard.io/ of the place where you received that notice? I’ll then route your feedback to the team.

    Thanks!

It’s that screen altogether that I find frustrating. As someone who builds sites, if I’ve set up a theme (whether one I build or one that’s chosen for specific reasons) if my client then installs WooCommerce later and gets this, they will think there’s some reason they should think about switching themes. There’s no benefit in it being a step in this process. Plus, when I got this screen, a woocommerce-related theme was the second option shown after the one already installed. The only possible benefit I can conceive of for having this step in the install process is to encourage installing particular themes. Anyone installing WooCommerce will have already installed a theme. There’s no technical reason for it to be there for the end user.

    Thanks for your feedback.

It would be great to have you add your ideas to the Ideas Board, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.
