I logged in to my WordPress installation this morning and was prompted with:

Important: Deactivate the MashShare Open Graph Add-On. It is not longer needed and having it activated leads to duplicate open graph tags on your site. Go to Plugin Settings

I disabled the plug-in and then checked a few of my posts. I can see the new MashShare Social Sharing Options fields, but none of the data was carried across from the old plugin. Re-scraping and sharing on Facebook now gives broken titles and descriptions. That’s a catastrophic problem for a social site. So, I re-enabled the old Open Graph Add-On. All the fields are blank. I’ve lost the custom fields for hundreds of posts.

How do I get them back without spending weeks re-entering them? (inb4 restore backups – I can’t restore from a backup, as my site is a live environment, and restoring will roll back events that have happened in the intervening time.)

Hello,

The old open graph plugin is not longer supported for MashShare 3.X

Please uninstall MashShare 3.X but do NOT tick the checkbox “remove all data on uninstall” in general settings.

Install old MashShare 2.5. from here https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/mashsharer.2.5.5.zip

So, you are done and your old data open graph data will be populated.

At the moment there is no time point for integrating the old open graph add on data because it was used only by a very little group of user.

If there are more user who wish the integration of the open graph add-on please let us know.

How do you then optimize e.g. facebook sharing? Is it somehow build in or do we still need the graph add-on?

I just began using MashShare and would be kind of disappointed having to use an old version to get this functionality.

open graph support is build in. There is no need for any additional add-on for this.

– How do we control the default image url?
– How do we control the title and description?

How do you control the default image url and what image is shown on each share? I have no images on Facebook shares.
