proper search php files and filter

  • in order to have a proper search withing a wordpress blog, how many php files should one have? Currently i have search, searchform, searchpage.

    The reason for all of them is because i found a couple articles online explaining how to create such pages. If anyone could please tell me a better way with less files, i would appreciate it.

    I just want a basic search for all posts & pages and to exclude 3 pages or so.
