Proposed feature: only display posts from same category as current post

    I would like to propose a new feature: give the user an option to display only posts of the same categories associated with the current post on single post pages. This will greatly reduce the bounce rate of visitors to many sites, or improve sales by showing more relevant products, etc.

    (This would not apply to the home page or static pages, just single post pages.)

    I am dying for this feature, and I’m sure many others are too.

    Note: This is distinct from the existing feature “Show posts of selected categories only”, which is not dynamically determined by what post the website visitor is looking at, but is a blanket global filter.

    That feature is already implemented in the versatile plugin Ultimate Post List Pro.

    If I’m not mistaken that’s an entirely different plugin, right? I’m quite used to this plugin, have taken some steps to adapt and customise my website specifically for it, and I’m not sure if I want to switch as that could have unexpected side effects.

    Should I take it that you are ruling out this feature for your plugin?

    I will not implement that feature into RPWWT. I am thinking there would be no side effect. You can first try the free version Ultimate Post List to test it and then swap to the Pro version.
