    Hi,

Is it possible to protect an uploaded video stream until the associated post has been purchased?

Also, where can i check out the premium version of this plugin?

    Hey Mike!
Yes, that is exactly what it would be able to do. You would essentially embed the video stream onto a page/post, and then associate a product with that page. The user would then have to purchase that product before they could view the contents of that page/post you embedded the video onto.

There is a 7-day free trial of the premium version of the plugin, you should see it when you have the free version installed. I am working on the marketing site for the premium plugin, I am hoping to have that up in the next coming weeks.

If you have any questions about the free or premium version, please do not hesitate to reach out on the forums or directly via email to [email protected]

    Thanks

So say the user buys access to a .mp4 file… The .mp4 video file would be as a virtual product in WooCommerece. And then there would be an embed on the Post trying to pull in that same .mp4 file (So WooCommerce covers any permissions issue with the file itself?)

Is that correct, and what you’re suggesting?

My main question was in regards to protecting the actual video file itself from say none-logged in/non-purchased users.

Great stuff ill have a look at the free version in more depth shortly.

Well if you are letting the user download the MP4 product and keep it, there is no need for this plugin as you would just use a downloadable virtual product in woocommerce and that would handle your file permissions etc.

If you were wanting to embed the MP4 in a page, like if you were using private Vimeo video, you could then use my plugin.

I would ideally be using self-hosted video files to offer an online video stream and a download.

Your plugin should still help with the streaming aspect, correct?

Including setting an expiry date too to disallow access to the download/stream?

Yes if that is the case, then yes it would work perfectly.
