Protect wp-config.php with the htaccess file details

Currently using this in my htaccess file to protect the wp-config file.

<files wp-config.php>
order allow,deny
deny from all
</files>

Now, if I’ve installed wordpress in another directory, lets say /core, should that reflect in the code in the htaccess then, like:

<files core/wp-config.php>
order allow,deny
deny from all
</files>

Make sense it should but just askning! ??
