• I have some password protected entries in my journal and I noticed that after setting up a subdomain url for my blog, I had to type the password for the protected entries again. However, after typing the password it didn’t show the entry. No matter how many times you try, it certainly isn’t showing the protected entries. Is this a bug and if so, how can it be fixed? Or doesn’t WordPress just allow protected entries viewed when you’re looking at the blog through a subdomain url?

  • I run my blog off of a subdomain just fine. Is the URL for the site in the admin area pointing to the subdomain, or the main domain?

Main domain. I thought it might be that why the protected entries aren’t working. But if I configured it to point to the subdomain, it wouldn’t work with the main domain, no? :/ Too bad, I was hoping it would have worked with both domains.

The problem is that it sets a cookie which is domain specific. So the subdomain cannot see the cookies set by the main domain and vice versa. There is a way to do it, but I don’t think that’s the way WP works by default.

^ So how do you fix it?

    Hmmm…any updates?

according to my webhost, it is not possible to write my subdomain with www included. This would indeed fix this problem.

it was my gengo plugin which caused the problem. But thanx to the writer is is fixed now.
