    Hello All,

I’m currently using S2 pro and have set up different download links that are visible only to certain members. These files are all stored in the s2member-files folder. However, when someone tries to access these files using a direct link itself, it seems the restrictions based on membership level don’t matter. In other words, level 1 members can access level 2 member files if they have the direct link.

Any assistance on how to prevent this from happening would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

  • You need to set up sub-folders for each user level. See API/Scripting -> Custom Capability & Member Level Files.

    Hey KTS915,

Thanks for the help. It works exactly as I need.

On another note, I tried the plugin we talked about earlier (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/s2member-secure-file-uploader/) and it works pretty well. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be able to upload files into such sub folders. I personally think that’d be a really welcomed feature for s2’s large following.

    Thx again

    Great! Glad it’s all working.

Yes, as I said, that plugin works fine but is rather inflexible. I agree that it would be great to have it enhanced a little to use sub-folders — but, of course, someone would have to be prepared to devote some time and/or money to do that.
