I’m trying to use the f8-lite theme. I was wondering if there’s a way to protect my images. Like a right click disable saving kind of thing?

you can do that but a half way savvy user can get around any of that stuff

I yeah I know, but it feels like I’m making a little effort to put an obstacle in the way!

I don’t think you’ll ever be able to protect images being saved from your website. You can always ‘View > Source’, or loads of other ways.

If you want to protect your images, put a watermark in the bottom-right corner of the image, or something, with your site name/address, that’s the the best way to ‘protect’ your images..

Yep I watermark already and put copyright in the exif file. Probably kidding myself anyway..as if anyone would want my pictures!

I also would like to protect pictures from being casually copied by disabling the save image / copy image on the Right Mouse Button pop up. I have seen this on photo web sites and would like to implement it. I know that it only protects the image from the casual lifter, as images can usually be mined from the browser cache.

Also, it would be nice, as I have seen elsewhere, to show a message in the RMB popup, something to the effect of this image is copyrighted, please don’t copy.

I have heard, but not seen, that some sites just disable the RMB pop up over images.

So, … is this done site wide, or is it done on a picture by picture bases. Also, how and where is it done. What is the code and where does it go?

And, if I install wp-copyrightpro will it block search engine crawls.
    thanks
