• I have a photo heavy website and, for the most part, I don’t have a great deal of image theft. I currently have a copyright protection type plug-in installed in my site which doesn’t allow text highlighting nor does it allow right-click.

However, for the images, all someone has to do is click on the image, thus opening it up in another tab, and all protections are lost. Is there a plug-in that allows for protection of the image at this point?

  • Use water marks, upload smaller low resolution images, give copyright warnings, etc. are some of the things you can do. Disabling right click just irritates your visitors and does not do much to protect your images as they can still be downloaded.

Never mind – I found a solution – used in conjunction with a no right-click plugin, I also found a plug in that removes image links, thus making them as theft proof as I can, given the nature of image thieves and their desire to steal.

I prefer to not use watermarks as it’s a travel site, not a portfolio site. I found the solution, as you can see from my prior post.

Problem is solved by adding a plugin that removes the image link, called Remove Image Link.

It won’t stop ALL theft, but it will stop a huge majority of it, keeping the more honest image thieves honest.
