Protecting uploads directory

I understand you want to protect the woocommerce_uploads directory which is where available files for download are stored, right?

There is no need to access and modify your .htaccess file – you can add and enable the directory in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Approved Download Directories. There is a tutorial here:
