PSA: Visual editor REQUIRED for shortcodes to work

  • After a lot of trial and error, debugging and months of frustration, I realized today that Column Shortcodes requires the visual editor to be enabled for the WordPress user in order for clicks on insert links to function.

    So if you have been wondering why clicking on the One Half / One Half Last (etc.) links in the shortcode popup stopped responding, that’s the reason.
