We are trying to configure connections so that we can expose a directory that is publicly available, but a person must be logged in with a certain role in order to view the details for an entry.

l thought by *not* clicking the option to “Require registered users to login before showing the directory” and then setting entries to private, we might achieve this — but it doesn’t work. Once we set an entry to private, it does not display in the listing.

I also played with the roles configuration, but there is no capability that distinguishes viewing an entry in the directory view vs. the detail view.

Any suggestions for how to accomplish this?

    One addition —
The website says connections has “hundreds of actions and filters that developers can use to create their own custom functionality” — however the documentation only has a few listed (https://connections-pro.com/documentation/contents/). Is there additional developer documentation somewhere that is better maintained?

    Uncheck the Require Login option.

When adding or editing an entry, set the Address, Phone, Email, Social Networks, Links, and Dates field visibility to Private.

    Publish the entry as Public.

On the Connections Roles admin page, choose the Roles that should be able to View Private.

The plugin source code is the best documentation source for the action and filter hooks in Connections.
