    Hi,
    First of all great plugin.

I have just built our field hockey club’s new website (https://www.tigers.asn.au) and we have around 200+ players. We intend not to allow anybody to become a Public Subscriber but force a new subscriber to become a Registered Subscriber which will ensure better control for us. To get the 200 players on to the posting list I will be uploading them as Public Subscribers. I don’t expect all of them to become Registered Subscribers hence the problem of them getting emailed posts in categories that don’t relate to them. Is there some way as an administrator I can set categories similar to Registered Subscribers for these Public Subscribers? The other alternative is to upload them all as Registers Subscribers but there isn’t the same facility as there is in the Public Subscriber area? Can you please help?

  • @tigweb,

Thank for a great explanation of what you are trying to accomplish.

The only limitations you can add to Public Subscriber settings would apply globally to all such users, so for example you can exclude a specific category (In the Settings page) and Public users will not get notifications for posts in that category.

It sounds like you need greater control for individual users (or groups of users) though so I’d suggest you look at plugins that allow you to create lots of registered user accounts quickly from a list of email addresses, maybe this one:

Thanks for that. I will try this and see how I go.
