    Hi,

all the posts that I make automated publishing with Publicize in Google+ don’t show correct post featured image.

Publicize take all the time the same image from sidebar (where “I traveled” map image).

Publicize I use only for Google+ no any other social media profiles.

What should I do to get right image?
    Thank you

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Google, much like Facebook and other Social Media tools, uses metadata to build its post previews.

Google+ relies on 3 levels of metadata:

    1. If you’ve added schema.org microdata, Google+ will use that. itemprop="image" would tell Google+ which image to use, for example.
    2. If your site doesn’t include any schema.org microdata, Google+ will fallback to Open Graph Meta Tags. These tags are also used by Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and others. Jetpack will include such tags on your site, unless you already use another Open Graph plugin, in which case Jetpack will let the other plugin do the work.
    3. Finally, if you don’t use schema.org microdata nor Open Graph Meta Tags, Google+ will fallback to the default title and description meta tags. There is no image meta tag though, so in such cases Google+ will often pick the first image it finds in the post. If your sidebar appears first in your page markup, that could explain why Google+ picks the same image in your sidebar.

I’d consequently suggest that you review the different tags in use on your site, and remove or add any tags to help Google+ build a good post preview.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you for reply.
But in the sidebar there are many other images, but google+ pick up all the time the same one.

and what you mean to add tags? I already use tags in my post, it’s not enough?

It might be because it’s the first image, or because it’s the biggest, or because it includes schema.org microdata. I can’t really tell without looking at the site.

I meant to review meta tags. These are added to the source code of your site by plugins and by your theme. You’ll need to make all meta tags are correct on your site, and that you use one of the solutions I outlined earlier.
