    Hi mtedwards,

Unfortunately at this time that setting isn’t available. I’ll pass on the suggestion however.

    Cheers

    Hi there,

Just wanted to give you a follow up here. Unfortunately there isn’t enough demand for this and most users will want to publicize for all of their posts. We want to avoid too many options in the plugin.

However, it would be feasible to extend Jetpack to achieve this using custom code. Unfortunately we can’t provide the code to do it or really support that route, but it is an option.

    Cheers ??

It would be usefull at least a custom code for it.
and setting button on publicize is not working fast

    not recommended solution :
    at plugin directory : jetpack/modules/publicize/ui.php
find “checked( true” and modify “checked( false”

Thank you olcaygursel for the modification, it works well. I keep notes anytime I modify outside of the theme files. I think it would be a popular feature for Publicize. For my clients, if they send a short post from a iOS or post to email, I doubt they want it to end up as a link in twitter or appended post with link in Facebook – which happens to all Publicize posts.

Too bad that there are not enough interested people. – I’m interested in such an option too!

The published (unofficial) solution is simple, but not very well thought out. It interferes with other functions of the plugin and should better not be used. Rather pass all users the rights to change the default settings.

Furthermore, we certainly hope that someday this option will exist… Please ??

Would be a useful feature, but the code worked, and now I’m good ??

The solution does not work everytime. We write around 10 to 20 posts a day on our website that we don’t want on facebook/twitter, and I would say that at least 2 or 3 (no idea why) goes to facebook/twitter either way (the checkbox somehow gets checked).

So I’m guessing like someone said above, the solution interferes with other functions. This should really be built-in the plugin by the developers. Any news?
