• A recent post at 8:45 EST was not published by Publicize, and no email notification was sent. These two features had been working properly yesterday, and when I use Jetpack’s debug page, I am told that my site is properly connected with no errors.

  • I am having the same issue. Very frustrating!

My email subscriptions are not working properly. I’ve never had a problem before. Subscribers get an email when I post an article. Simple. Not now. I’m hearing from multiple subscribers who aren’t getting it every day (some say Sunday and Wednesday particularly) and other emails trail in hours later. I also tried to subscribe myself and wasn’t allowed to (It said I had succeeded, but I never got the email confirmation and, no, it did not go into a spam folder.) Also, I noticed that on the “old stat” page I have over 1100 email subscribers, but the “more stats on WordPress” site says I have just over 1,000. This has always worked so well. What happened? And how can it be fixed?

I don’t think that we can fix this issue on our ends. The Publicize and Email Notification functions seem to depend upon Jetpack and its servers at www.ads-software.com. Sometimes this system just seems to not work, even though Jetpack’s debug function shows that my site is properly connected with no errors.

These outages affect three Jetpack functions: Publicize, Email Notifications, and the Notification icon in the admin taskbar. They always fail together.

An update on this issue: After not working most of the morning and early afternoon (EST), Publicize and Email Notifications started working correctly again around 2:30 pm EST.

However, it may have failed again briefly between 4:30 pm and 5:30pm EST.

I’ve discovered a way to predict when Publicize and Email Notifications will fail. If the drop down Comment Notifications list (the orange icon) is missing recent comments that appear in the Comments tab, then Publicize and Email Notifications will not work, either.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    Sorry for all the trouble!

This indicates synchronization issues between your site and WordPress.com, and that will indeed impact modules like Publicize, Subscriptions, Notifications, or Related Posts for example.

I can’t tell what’s causing the synchronization issue without looking at your site, though. Can you all use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your sites?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

In my case, everything started working again the next day. It seemed to be a 1-day issue.

I tried several times through the day (last Wednesday) and it never posted anything via publicize, but beginning again on Thursday morning it worked first-time-every-time.
