• Is anyone else out there getting publicize issues again? My site has been up and running just fine through yesterday’s posting which was around 4pm. I just saw a comment that the Jetpack support team isn’t around until the 26th? I’m concerned only because it seems like something has shifted with the publicize. I had to manually push through my post today to get it to go out to the subscribers and to the social media. Thus the manual publicize worked fine. Just not the scheduled ones. My post was scheduled at 3:30pm today. It posted at 3:35 pm on my site, but no subscriber emails and no social media posts. I then deleted it from my site and set it up again at 4:30. Same thing happened within a few minutes. It posted just fine to my site, but did not go out to the subscribers or the social media. I disconnected Jetpack and reconnected it afterwards and hoped that might help for tomorrow’s posting, but in the meantime, I manually pushed my post out and at least for that, the subscriptions went out just fine. Has anyone else experienced publicize issues today and is using Jetpack. And if so, was your post scheduled? Thanks!

  • Hi,
same to me! it’s since sept 11th that my posts aren’t automatically published on twitter and tumblr (the only ones I use). I’ve tryed to refresh the connection, but nothing changed!

Even the “Site Stats” are wrong: the number of published posts isn’t correct.

Right here with you, publicize has not been working for me at all for several weeks now.

Are you all using scheduled posting or just publishing on the fly? I have the problem with scheduled posting…

As of today, my results with Publicize and Email Notifications have been mixed. I published a post this morning that did not get posted to Facebook and Twitter, and also didn’t send an email notification. About two hours later, I published a different post and both Publicize and Email Notifications worked correctly.

In both cases, I didn’t schedule the posts, but rather pressed the “Publish” button.

Andrew, when you disconnected and reconnected Jetpack, did you see any error messages like the kind I describe in this message?

I commented on your other post, but yes I did see that same error. And as for today, my scheduled posting once again did post at 3:30 or so. But the social media and the subscribers didn’t go out. I once again had to delete the post and republish it. ??

@andrewarthurdawson: Thanks for the report! I’ve updated a few settings for your site on our side. Can you please try to disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack from WordPress.com, just so we can work with a fresh connection?

To do so, click on Jetpack from your site’s Dashboard and scroll all the way down where you’ll see a link that says “Disconnect from WordPress.com”. Click that to disconnect.

To reconnect, click the green button that says “Connect to Get Started” and follow the prompts. Then, see if the issue persists after that.

For everyone else reporting this issue, could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome?

    Thank you!

Ryan, I just disconnected Jetpack and reconnected it. Just as an FYI. I got an error upon reconnecting like so many others had reported. It was in red. I then hit “Try Again” and I got a “Jetpack already connected” message. Anyway, it’s connected at the moment and my blog is set to post tomorrow at 3:30pm. I will wait to see if it posts ok. As I said before, when I let the scheduled posting go out, it would only post on the blog itself, but no publicize or subscriptions would go out. This has has gone on since Jeremy mentioned you guys were not supporting for a short bit of time. I hope the changes you made will fix this issue. I know it’s definitely not on my end, because everything was working just fine right before Jeremy’s message and I had made no changes since or around that time either for that matter. Nevertheless, I will report back in tomorrow as soon as I see what happens. And as a second FYI, I’m only running Jetpack at the present moment for plugins to make sure that nothing conflicts. If there’s anything else you need me to do let me know. Thanks!

Thanks for the update, Andrew! Jetpack appears to be properly connected on your site at the moment. Please let me know if your next post is Publicized correctly, and we’ll go from there.

Ryan, I set my post to publish today at 1pm. It was set as scheduled of course. I went and looked at 1:20 pm and while again the post showed up on my blog itself just fine, the publicize did not work with the social media or the subscriptions. I had to delete the post off my site and then re-add it and then publish it directly, of which it then did go out successfully to all the social media and the subscribers.

I’m not sure why this error is happening, as I have done nothing to my site at all other than disconnected Jetpack and all the social media and reconnect them. I have no new plug ins, and have not changed any functionality of my site. I actually prefer a pretty simple existence so for me my blog is pretty simple. This whole thing materialize with the release of Jetpack 4.3. It was basically one day my blog worked fine and Brandon Kraft had been helping me to get there and then then next day, the day after Jeremey had placed his support message out on the forums, it stopped working with scheduled posts. I don’t know anything else I can do to rectify this, but I don’t believe this is about my site or my host provider? I hope you can get to the root of this.

There was another user out there having something similar to me and they downgraded to the previous software of Jetpack and it started working fine for them just as an FYI.

Thanks for the update! Could you provide me with a link to the post that failed to Publicize?

    Thread Starter Andrew Arthur Dawson

    (@andrewarthurdawson)

Here’s the link that I had to delete and repost -> https://thetwelfthstep.com/2016/09/23/question-to-ponder-for-the-day-236/

As I mentioned, it posted fine on the manual publish, just not the scheduled publish. Subscriptions and social media don’t go out on scheduled posts, only the blog itself. Manual publish works correctly on all levels.

Thanks for the link! Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site? You can follow these steps to do so:

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Scroll down to the bottom and click “Debug.”
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box, your name, email address, and link to this thread.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

Just let me know, and we’ll go from there.

    Thread Starter Andrew Arthur Dawson

    (@andrewarthurdawson)

Ryan, I’m out for the afternoon and evening from my computer but I will do that later tonight ok? Just curious is the debug feature standard on Jetpack 4.3.1? Didn’t you have to downloaded a debugger plugin? I’ve never done this so just asking some questions in advance.

    Thread Starter Andrew Arthur Dawson

    (@andrewarthurdawson)

Also what does the debug do? Does it stay active once you click it?

    Thread Starter Andrew Arthur Dawson

    (@andrewarthurdawson)

Ryan, I did as you asked. I did not get any error when running the debug. I did send it to your team, including the advanced debug results just a minute ago. I actually think I sent it twice by the way. Sorry about that.

So I’m not sure what more I can do. I still don’t believe this is an issue with my site specifically. Before the latest WordPress version and the Jetpack updates you guys did, I never had a single issue with my blogs going out, even with the scheduled blogs. But I’ve had them ever since and I have not added, changed, or done anything to my site other than turn on the “Monitor” feature on Jetpack.

I hope you guys can figure this out as it really is frustrating having to manually delete each of my scheduled postings once they post to my site and then republish them to get the publicize to go out correctly. ??

    Sincerely,
    Andrew
