• All of a sudden, Publicize has stopped working.

It says I need to refresh my Google+, Facebook and Twitter connections. When I do that, it gives me this message:

Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work.

    Error code: -10520

I have tried and tried and tried again, but I get the same message every time. I also get it when I try to add new connections.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Hi,

What is your URL and what hosting provider are you using?

    Thanks!

Could you try again? GoDaddy made a server change that blocked Jetpack’s connections but they reported the issue is now resolved.

    Thanks!

    Nope, still getting it.

It appears that your server may be blocking access to your site from Jetpack’s servers. GoDaddy informed us their general updates that caused this has been resolved and I can’t duplicate it on our testing account.

Could you contact GoDaddy’s support and ask them to look into it, noting that you’re aware of the recent issue that was resolved, but the apparent block is still occurring for you.

    Thanks!

Contacted them and they said it might be due to this: https://blog.spiderlabs.com/2014/03/wordpress-xml-rpc-pingback-vulnerability-analysis.html

They said they’d investigate but nothing has happened as of yet.

Trying on our end too. Latest we heard from them is that they’re blocking all POST requests via XML-RPC (via a network trap).

At the end of that article, they mention that you can selectively block the particular request that is causing the headaches. I’ll suggest to them to look at that route.

I apologize for the hassle. GoDaddy has been the only hosting provider to handle this issue in this way and I’m eager to have it resolved too.

    Cheers!

Thanks, I hope this can be resolved soon. It’s causing me to lose views. ??

Thinking of moving hosts in the future because this is just one of many many problems I’ve had with them.

Having the exact same issue here ??

If you haven’t contacted GoDaddy yet to let them know that their block is causing hardship for you, please do so. We’ve been in contact, but hearing from their paying users can’t hurt ??

The other large hosts haven’t implemented this type of blocking that we’ve seen so far.

    Thread Starter Will24_

    (@will24_)

Contacted them again and they just sent me the link to an article explaining why they’ve done the block.

2 weeks since I created this topic and GoDaddy haven’t done anything about it. They do not care.

?? I e-mailed the contact I have there again to see if we can push it on their end any.

Could you deactivate CloudFlare so I can get some fresh error codes for GoDaddy (or see if CloudFalr<->GoDaddy is the issue)?

It was happening before I started using CloudFlare, but I will temporarily deactivate it.
