    Hi there,

as a WP-admin I can connect to the social media pages of my blog. Unfort. we are several authors and I want to avoid, that all user post in my social media.
But, at the authors dashboard, I cannot configure their jetpack connection since they have no admin level.

Q: How can I connect to Jetpack, activate publicize but allow every user to us its own social media channel?
Q2: How can I avoid that all posts are shared by default. Is there a function or filter to untick the checkboxes unless I tick them manually? Out of 10 posts, I want to share one and it is annoying to tick off all social media channel all the time.

    Thanks for any contribution!

    M.

Hi M, can you ask each author to go ahead and establish their own WordPress.com connection? Then they should be able to add publicize connections for their articles.

    Hi,

Thank you. That makes sense and I thought so too. But entering their dashboard there is no option to Setup a publicize connection not there is a facebook / LinkedIn button On WordPress.com – marketing. All I see is an mailchimp connector there.
Where Can a wp-admin enable /disable Publicize generally?
Is there another reason why I cannot connect my authors?

Author users should definitely see the option to set up Publicize at https://wordpress.com/marketing/connections, provided they have their author accounts on the site connected to their WordPress.com accounts.

Did you add these users directly from WP-Admin, or from WordPress.com ->Manage ->People? If you added them from WP-Admin, do you see them listed in both WP-Admin ->Users ->All Users, and also in WordPress.com ->Manage ->People, and showing the same user role in both locations?

Are you willing to share your site’s URL so we can take a look from our end?

    SOLUTION

    Hi again,

I solved the problem with the help of another WP-ADMIN.
You have to activate to publicize as WP-ADMIN first. You might but need not connect to any social media. The moment one WP-ADMIN had activated publicize in hos account, authors can use it too and are able to connect to their social media.

I didn’t consider that the connection relies on the admins activation.

    Best,

    Michael

Ah, so they enabled it in the Jetpack dashboard? Thanks for sharing that tip.
