• I have all of my plugins, WP, etc., all up to date, but there seems to be a conflict that is occurring with Edit Flow. When this plugin is activated, my ‘Publish’ button disappears and I cannot publish nor schedule posts.

  • What theme are you using and what other plugins do you have activated? That would help us in determining the issue.

Also, if you’re able to deactivate your other plugins (excluding Edit Flow) and reactivate them one at a time, that would help in narrowing down which plugin is causing a conflict.

    Thanks!

@crystalmcc. When you have a theme or plugin acting strangely, it is very frequently a conflict between your theme or plugin and another. One of the very first steps is to deactivate other plugins, including the one you are having trouble with. There are two approaches to doing this that I have found helpful.

    1) Deactivate all of them and then activate one at a time.
    2) Think back to any recent updates prior to the problem. Deactivate those first and then retest.

Over many years of using WordPress, I have identified countless problems this way.

The next thing is to make sure all of your plugins are being actively developed. Often we use free plugins and then the developer discontinues developing. I have no problem using free plugins when they are available, but just know that it is important to keep current plugins. Often, it is old code that conflicts with newer code.

    That’s my two cents.

It appears it’s in conflict with Yoast SEO Premium; both that plug in and this one were updated 3 days ago and would have been updated on my site probably on either Wednesday or Thursday. I can deactivate Edit Flow and have Yoast activated and it works fine. I can have Yoast deactivated and Edit Flow on and all is well. But when I add in Edit Flow with Yoast, my publish button disappears.

I’m using Genesis with Tasteful Theme by Restored 316.

Thanks @crystalmcc. I reached out to the Yoast team and so far they have been unable to reproduce the issue. Could you provide a few screenshots of the issue? That would help with investigating this further.

    Thanks!

Also, it would help to know what version of WordPress you’re using, and if you’re using the Classic Editor or Gutenberg.

    Thanks!
