Publish date is changing

@npacademy – which version of Revisionize are you using? The dates should not change.

Strange – that version should maintain the date of the original post.

What other plugins do you have installed?

When you click “Revisionize” (create a new revision) from some existing post, what is the date that shows up? The original date? Or today’s date? If the original date, then assuming that today’s date gets set once the Revision itself is published.

It’s the original date, but I have been changing that to the time I want the post to update. Is that not how I should be scheduling it?

Aha – you’re scheduling it. Should have guessed based off your other topic. So you are scheduling it correctly. And yes, I can see the problem now. Currently there is no work around for this. I will need to release another version with changes to address your use-case.

I’m also looking to update the post in place without changing the post publish date and just specify a date via scheduling to have that post updated.

I’m just finding this plugin and it looks perfect for a few clients of mine who deal with multiple authors and editors and need to make changes.

But this post piques my interest – are you saying that if you use the “Schedule Revision” feature as shown in the screenshots and described above, that the published date of the post or page will change with it? I can see where that’s not good, especially on blog posts, but even for general WP administration, it’s good to know when original pages are published (not just when their updated)

Can you put that “bug” into the plugin as an optional feature?

I am looking for a way to update the post date automatically to current date/time after approving a post.

@drreen – Check out the settings page. It has a “Preserve Date” setting.
