Publish from localhost to mastodon

    Hi,

    is it possible to publish from localhost to mastodon? Background: for development I want to test if ActivityPub might be compatible with my own plugins. I already testet this multiple times but without success (e.g. with @admin@wordpress.local).

    hey @threadi sadly this is not possible, because Mastodon tries to verify the signature of the request with the public key on the profile URL. And with localhost, Mastodon can‘t request the profile URL.

    That makes development and debugging really hard, because I also have to test everything in a live system.
