Publish particular revision

Is there a way to have a particular post or page revision published, while still leaving the ability to revise the post. i.e. to have a development branch, whilst maintaining the stable post/page?

I often have the need to consult with a colleague before committing a revision, but there’s no way to do this unless you make the page ‘draft’ again.
