• Hi, not sure if this is a Storify or WordPress issue, but I tried to export from Storify to WordPress and it works but it crops the top of the articles and loses the summary (the bit in italics on Storify). I have installed the widget. If I send the Storify tory via Posterous and import from there is works fine and everything appears.

  • The next version of the plugin should resolve the issue, or if you’d like, you’re welcome to give the development version a try, which includes the fix.

    Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for that. Will that also fix the issue where if you export a Posterous story that includes a Storify element to WordPress and then go in and do an edit to the Word Press version it then strips out the Storify bit when you save. However, if you go in to do a quick edit and just add tags etc the Storify bit remains in tact.

    Hi Benjamin,

Installed that plug in, but the first bit of the Storify article (the bit in italics) is still getting stripped out.

So there was a bit of a logical tradeoff. Either the plugin could go back and insert the description for every already published Story (potentially disrupting a post or double adding the description), or it could only work going forward by default, and to err on the side of caution, I chose the later.

If you click screen options in the top right corner of the post you’re having trouble with, and enable the “custom fields” metabox, you should see a entry labeled “storify_added_description”. If you delete that entry for any already-existing posts that you want the description to now appear, it should work.

…unless your problem is with a new post?

Hi Benjamin, the problem was that the summary in italics was stripped out. Now, with the steps mentioned above new exported posts from Storify appear with just the headline and nothing else. I am sure it is me being stupid. I had wanted to export directly from Storify to WordPress but I might use Posterous instead because it works fine on that platform.
